Isabel Mester
Music Instructor
Ms. Mester was born in Uruguay and grew up in Argentina. She moved to the United States in 2004 after living in Venezuela for many years. Ms. Mester started teaching music in Montessori schools in 2005 and has been the music teacher at MASS since 2017. She began developing the music program for lower and upper elementary classes, Junior High and Senior High as well teaching general music, recorder, guitar, ukulele, and piano.
Ms. Mester is an Orff-Shulwerk specialist and holds a bachelor’s degree in Music with a minor in Education from Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales in Venezuela. In 2018 and 2019 she took the International Baccalaureate trainings for music teachers and holds a certification to teach IB music in the Middle Year Program (MYP) and Diploma (DP) levels.
Ms. Mester is the mother of two, Luciana, a Montessori teacher that lives in Uruguay and Diego, who is finishing his studies to become a mechanical engineer. She is a member of the early music community orchestra Lauda Musical of Atlanta and has more than 30 years of teaching and performing experience throughout Venezuela and the United States.
